My tough love approach (heavy on the love) focuses on bringing order to chaos, and creating solid (and straightforward) strategic plans. I take surveys for fun, never met a process I didn’t like, and am a big believer in personal growth as a keystone to business growth.

There’s no denying the reality of social media. This is where people communicate freely, share ideas, and live online. Businesses, and especially small businesses, need to work in this space if they want to reach their customers effectively.
The trouble comes in working out where to start. “Social media” can be a big and confusing place, and putting together a marketing campaign can be cumbersome. The top five social media platforms in Canada are Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest. While it’s entirely possible to hit all of them at once, if you stretch yourself too thin the entire campaign could fall apart.
Your first step, then, is to get familiar with the basic terminology and create a step-by-step plan for yourself, including specific goals, ways to measure your progress, and a system in place to create customer interactions. You’ll also need to decide if this is something you can handle on your own, or if you need the aid of a marketing firm or virtual assistant.
While this might all seem a bit overwhelming, the following infographic does a great job of breaking it all down for you.
